About

Arsinoe Serious Town (AST) is a multi-player card game designed to showcase multi-stakeholder climate and economic consensus building for a medium-sized town and demonstrate the challenges and uncertainty in preparing for ‘resilience events’.

The game is designed as a typical ‘ice breaker’ activity, bringing together participants in a safe space to discuss the relative merits of town-scale interventions using cliched personas.  The game leverages macroeconomic modelling through STEEPLE to create plausible interventions around the key themes of the ARSINOE open-innovation work package (WP2), allowing players to see the impact of both single interventions and their combined impact on reducing five resilience events.

The game provides players and facilitators with post-game reflection events to consider how the players made their intervention choices, the effectiveness and ethics of their choices, and the impact of the end of game resilience events.
